It’s the end of another week, and many of you will be heading to the grocery store for your weekly shopping. The biggest piece of advice that I can give is to always review your receipt when you get home. Unfortunately, there is always the possibility of a computer or human error that can be costly. Because I use coupons and rebates to drastically lower my expenses, I scrutinize my receipts; and have found a substantial amount of errors in the past 5 months. This is the reason why I am an advocate of smaller shopping trips – errors can be seen easily on shorter receipts. Last month I was charged twice for a six pack of Coca-Cola Life priced at $4.99. Today I returned to the store because my Porterhouse steaks scanned incorrectly, and I was refunded $3.97. If you don’t mind paying extra for your groceries, just disregard this tip; but if you are overcharged, the grocery clerks are trained to correct those mistakes and keep their customers happy. Have a great weekend!
